I am obsessed with this spicy chipotle cashew crema. It’s super easy to make and amazingly delicious, I mean, like lickable good. This creamy, yet dairy-free sauce is perfect on tacos, as a sandwich spread, or I’ve even used it as a chip dip, and it totally hit the spot. The best part, you can whip up this crave-worthy sauce in a jiffy.

Secret in the Sauce

The chipotles in adobo sauce are what make this sauce delish. They add the spicy, smoky flavor, and a little tang. To make this sauce, I just use half of a small can of chipotles in adobo sauce. If you really like things hot, you can certainly add more chipotles. I’ve even made this before using the whole 3.5oz can and didn’t find it too spicy. Perhaps start with a little and you can always add more after doing a taste test. Did you know that chipotle peppers are actually jalapeño peppers? What is referred to as chipotle peppers are just smoke-dried jalapeños. Who knew!

I love making delectable homemade sauces. They can turn a mediocre meal into a five-star dinner in just a few easy steps. This Chipotle cashew crema can take simple tacos to gourmet. Or I love to spread this delicious stuff on a sandwich. The possibilities are endless.

The Best Dairy Substitute

Cashew cream or cashew milk are my absolute favorite dairy-free substitutes. They are easy to make in the blender, no soaking required. Want thick cream? Just simply use less water. Or increase the water and you’ll get cashew milk. Cashew cream is my favorite dairy substitute because it is so versatile. I do like to use raw, unsalted cashews to make either cashew cream or cashew milk. The raw tends to blend a little smother and I don’t like the roasted flavor in these dairy substitutes. Cashew cream or milk, which works great in both sweet and savory foods. Unlike soy milk, which I don’t like in savory cheesy sauces. Or coconut milk, which has its uses, but the coconut flavor can be overpowering in the wrong meal.
